HISTORY
The
Spruce Cove Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre, founded on November 1, 1999, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation
and release of injured and orphaned wildlife.
On
December 1, 1999, the centre was incorporated through the Joint Registry of Nova Scotia as a not-for-profit society. In June 2000, the Centre officially opened its doors for injured, orphaned, and sick
wildlife. On January 1, 2001, Spruce Cove received its charity status from the
Federal Government which now allows the Centre to issue receipts for Income Tax purposes.
We
have rehabilitation permits from the Department of Natural Resources and the Federal Department of Environment (rehabbing
migratory birds)
